Your Addiction Is Affecting Real Human Relationships

This is probably one of the most powerful videos I have watched over the last decade.

I encourage you, friends and family, to invest 15 minutes of your time and watch this and listen very carefully to the message from a selected few that have been on the coal face and front line.

I witness this first hand every single day with friends and family, who are literally addicted, like drug addicts, to Facebook and social media.

“It literally is a point now, where I think we have created tools that are ripping apart the social fabric of how society works. That is truly where we are. If you feed the beast, that beast will destroy you.

The short-term dopamine driven feedback loop (Likes, shares, posts), that we have created, are destroying how society works.”

If you truly feel that you have your social media ADDICTION under control, prove it.

Go a week, just one week without it, and let’s see if:

  1. You can actually do it.
  2. How did your life change without having it for a week?
  3. Did you miss or crave it?

I go out or have people over for dinner and feel the odd person out when I don’t pick up my phone or get onto social media. I feel and believe that it is ruining real life relationships and

.

Some may argue with that last post and argue that I am contradicting myself as I am posting on social media with this message, and that is fine, I encourage debate, but it doesn’t consume at least 60 minutes each and every day of my life (in small 5-10 minute chunks).

I see it every day and feel that the dopamine additions that the social media and our phones/tablets and computers cause, is having a massive effect on relationships and how we function as human beings.

Just my dot com. Rant over.

I welcome all comments and thoughts.
